A desperate young woman lying her way into a live-in caregiver job for a bedridden former magician discovers her charming elderly patient may be connected to decades of missing women, only to learn too late that his helplessness is the deadliest trick he has ever performed.

Buried under debt after the death of her mother, Madison takes a remote live-in caregiver job despite not being a licensed nurse. Her patient, Caleb Shelton, is a bitter, bedridden former magician whose mind seems to slip in and out of reality. At first, Madison sees him as another lonely, damaged person who needs patience, compassion, and companionship. But the cabin holds old secrets. A forgotten diary, a missing girl’s bracelet, a yellow dress, hidden cameras, and the strange behavior of Caleb’s supposed son Daniel lead Madison toward a horrifying truth. Caleb is not the helpless invalid he pretends to be. He is a predator who has spent years luring women into his isolated home, collecting pieces of them like souvenirs. When Madison uncovers his past, Caleb drops the illusion and turns her from caregiver into captive. Drugged, chained, and forced into the role of his next victim, Madison must face not only the monster in front of her, but the guilt that brought her there. To survive, she will have to weaponize every secret, every flaw, and every broken part of herself.
